Easy recipe for South African Hoender Tamatie Bredie Chicken Tomato Stew Cooking African food together as a family Hoender Tamatie Bredie is a simple South African Chicken Tomato Stew recipe made with onions, tomatoes, apricot jam, and many spices. Prep time: 30 min Cook time: 1-hour Total time: 1 hour 30 min. Ingredients. 4 skinless chicken thighs. 2 tablespoons chicken fat. 1 white onion, sliced thin. 1 chili pepper, finely chopped. 6 large tomatoes chopped. 2 large white potatoes diced. 1 tablespoon minced garlic. 2 tablespoons apricot jam. 1 teaspoon ground curry. ½ teaspoon nutmeg. ½ teaspoon cinnamon. 2 dried bay leaves. Salt and pepper to taste. 8 cups of water. Directions. In a large pot, lightly brown the meat in the fat, remove and set aside. Using the same pot sauté onions with the jam and garlic. Add all ingredients to the pot cover and simmer for one hour. Serve with jasmine rice. South African Chicken Tomato Stew

Use sweet North African tahini honey butter recipe as a spread on crackers and breads, or with fruits or vegetables as a sweet delicious dip.   Prep time: 10 min Cook time: 10 min Total time: 20 min Ingredients 1 cup honey ½ cup sesame seeds 2 tablespoons salted butter Directions In a food processor add sesame seeds and butter grind until a thick paste, add honey and store in the refrigerator in a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid.   North African Tahini Honey Butter Recipe

Madagascar is the 4th large island in the world and is located in the Indian Ocean supporting a unique biology, about 90% of its plants and animals are found nowhere else on earth.

Composed of 155 islands, Seychelles is Africa's smallest country. By far the largest island is Mahe, home to about 90% of the population and the site of its capital city of Victoria.

Cabo Verde has a strategic location 310 miles or 500 km from the west coast of Africa near major north-south sea routes; important communications station; important sea and air refueling site.

Africa is surrounded by water but by definition Africa is not an island because Africa is a continent. Continents can not be considered islands because of their size and also by historic definition since many people who study geography define islands and continents as two different things.
